Woohoo Plugs are DONE
Woohoo Plugs are DONE
Hey guys just wanted to post and say I finally got to changing the plugs in my 04 this weekend. Started out with a warm engine, a box of parts, and a good buddy to help when I screw up. After hearing all the plug horror stories, we decided to try the impact method since my truck is over 130k miles. After about an hour all but 1 plug was out without breaking
. I was prepared for breakage so I had already picked up a Lisle tool. It took about 2 hours to finally get the tool to bite but it came out without any damage to the engine. Now in the next few weeks, I have to install cam phasers, chains, water pump, front and rear gears because of a broken cross pin in the rear, and new cross drilled and slotted rotors.
This truck has become a money pit since paying it off last month but I plan on keeping it and getting another 100k out of it.
