Woohoo Plugs are DONE

Hey guys just wanted to post and say I finally got to changing the plugs in my 04 this weekend. Started out with a warm engine, a box of parts, and a good buddy to help when I screw up. After hearing all the plug horror stories, we decided to try the impact method since my truck is over 130k miles. After about an hour all but 1 plug was out without breaking . I was prepared for breakage so I had already picked up a Lisle tool. It took about 2 hours to finally get the tool to bite but it came out without any damage to the engine. Now in the next few weeks, I have to install cam phasers, chains, water pump, front and rear gears because of a broken cross pin in the rear, and new cross drilled and slotted rotors.

This truck has become a money pit since paying it off last month but I plan on keeping it and getting another 100k out of it.

Good work, man. Sounds like you're on the path to vehicle longevity.

Good job. If you keep it long enough to do this project again, you'll have no fear because now you're an old pro.
