Finally, its DONE!
Finally, its DONE!
So today I decided to tackle my Plugs. My dad an I did them, as we both have f150's. We pretty much followed everyone's advice one here.
I ran 3 bottles/tanks of Chevron Techron though the truck before we even started.
We figured out you pretty much have to be ballerina to get to the rear cop and plugs. lol.
One of the 2 plugs broke funny, and I thought I was going to have to have it towed. The metal sleeve with the threads seperated from the porcelain. I had the tip and all the porcelain still in the head. Had no clue how to get it out. Finally I just started shaking the plug with the socket and it finally broke. Then in went the Lisles Tool!!
Over all I broke 2 out of 8, which I don't think was too bad. I went into it thinking that I was going to breaking all 8. The Lisles tool is AWESOME!!
I replaced them with E3(3.70) plugs. I am so far very pleased with them. I can tell a difference in the throttle response, and in the smoothness in the motor. As of now, I am very impressed with them.
So after a lot of SOB's, dropping tools, forgetting where we set down the tools, 2 Plug breaks, an hour and a half of trying different stuff on the 1 plug, and 5 hours, We have finally finished.
I'm glad to have this done!
