anyone got any random clicks when accelerating

every now and then my truck will feel odd to me for a while. im sure nothings truly wrong, but i feel like recently ive had a random click when accelerating from a stop. its very faint, and ive tried holding stuff still in my map pockets in my doors, but i cant tell if its stuff shifting on me, or if its actually something underneath the truck making noise.

anyone else put up with random noises and not know what they are?

should i just keep driving till something actually breaks or makes a ton of noise?

the faint continuous ticking when accelerating under load once going is the header warping problem isnt it?

i get some chatter on cold start ups, its nothing like a cam phaser problem, i think its mostly injectors ticking, but is it common to get an exhaust leak that can tick up towards the front of the truck , like between the cats and motor? sometimes i get the tick more when im in a drive through or next to a wall, it echos better

also once in a blue moon when i start my truck, and the eatc is on, i feel like my ac compressor kicks on really hard, i get a solid click about 2 seconds after i start the truck. is this just the clutch in the ac compressor grabbing super hard sometimes? the ac will sometimes make my brake pedal have a slight vibration. is that normal too?

I have been chasing this random click for more than 6 months. I find that it clicks immediately upon start up and between 1 st gear and 2nd gear upshift.
Sounds like a solenoid clicking on/off. I have an 07 AWD/4WD 5.4L. It seems to only do this when truck has been parked for awhile. So far nothing has broke but hopefully someone will have an idea. Ive spent hours combing threads with no luck.

alright, im really looking for help here, my tick at idle seems to be getting worse. it sounds like an exhaust leak. anyone have any experiences with this?

do cam phasers make ticking noises before they start to sound like diesels?

what else can i look for. i think i know what the injector tap is, but it doesent sound like that.

One thing I found while under the truck looking for a cause was while touching the transfer case I could feel the click. Was wondering if there was an issue with that. I did change the transfer case fluid to Amsoil some time ago. I may switch back to Mercon to rule that out. I also check the manifold and there doesnt appaear to any soot or bolts missing.

Does your clicking still seem to be random like mine? When you say its getting worse is it rpm related?

no its random it wasnt doing it badly but today i drove it around turned it off, turned it on, drove 15 minutes home, hooked up to a boat, pulled it to a gas station, idled while putting gas in the boat, then back home, shut it off, started it back up, went to another place, shut it off, and i noticed it ticking more then.

im also noticing my whine i get more, i think its an intake(dvw mod) whine. it does it at idle and up to 1200 rpms or so.

but the ticking only seems to do it at idle. only thing i can think of is that ive been leaving my truck idling allot lately. when i go somewhere , and im just running in for a minute or two, i leave it running and lock it on the keypad. and i had a universal magnaflow welded in, and there is one hole where that was welded in, you can see a little soot where it is. but this isnt my click, when i start it and its idled up i can feel air blowing out of it, then when it idles down and begins to tick some, i can put my finger on it and plug it up, and the tick doesent change.

anyone got a video of their truck just idling, so i can see what is normal and what isnt

if you can hear the faint tick at idle now, does that mean ill probably need phasers in the future?

ive also read allot on josiah's posts about how his tick was only in drive, not in neutral or park, and that was his headers being warped. thats true for mine too, its way more noticable in drive, and not bad at all in neutral. the more i read about josiah's posts on his header problems , the more that sounds like mine. i can hear it better in a drive through next to a brick wall.
