08 Electrical

Well, my 08 F150 didn't start yesterday morning. The instrument panel does not show the normal startup, low air, check engine, etc. Certain things work and others don't. No power windows, but the park/headlights work. Door locks but no radio. No blower motor. No wipers but horn. I checked all the fuses that had to do with power and PCM. Checked the realys and breaker for continiuty and don't have a way to check for codes.

Guess it's headed to the shop and then maybe the trade lot.

Check the voltage at the battery, it might be dead

I checked the battery last night. After a little more googling, now I'm wondering if the truck thinks it's being stolen and has disabled the ignition.

When you turn the key to start does the red security light continue to blink?

Yes, the red light still blinks when the key is turned. Went ahead and pulled the neg post off for 25 minutes. Still the same results.

Do you have another key to try?

New twist. I was going to move it and found that I can put the key in the on position, depress the brake, and can not move the automatic gear shift. The steering wheel is unlocked but can not put it in nuetral.

You said you checked the battery, but didn't say how, or what it checked. You need to charge the battery, and load test it. That is the only way you can tell what is actually going on with the electrical. Electronics and electrical are very finicky in the newer vehicles concerning having proper voltage AND AMPERAGE. Horse before the cart- battery condition may be OK, but it's pointless to go any farther till that has been established in the way I described. A simple voltage test (should be 12.6V at least) means nothing without an amperage test (ability to get the voltage OUT of the battery where it can do it's job).
