I Color Matched My Front Emblem

I removed my front emblem and painted it Dark Shadow Gray & Black. It wasnt hard but it took a while because I hand painted it. How do you guys think it came out?

Since Ford shut down Patriot Decals this is probably the only option for those wanting this mod. Looks great but the closeup doesn't do it justice - too many reflections.

I heated the cover with a heat gun and pulled it off, then sanded down the chrome. I then painted the DSG after that. I was having a hard time trying to tape off everything else so the small bottles of touch up paint I bought has a very small brush in it so I went ahead and hand painted the lettering and the outside rim. It took a couple hours but I think it came out pretty good.

Yeah I didnt notice until I posted the pic how many reflections there was. The clearcoats I put on made it very shiny I was thinking I should have bought the matte clear that they had there.

Where'd you get the paint and for how much?

I'll have to do the same pretty soon. On my back emblem the blue is separating and looking like junk.

Now I know what I'm doing next weekend.... Mine front emblem is peeling so I'm thinking White Tricoat Metalic Background with the original Chrome lettering.... if it doesn't work i'll just order a new one on ebay and replace it.

Looks Awsome!!!

The paint I used was the small touch up bottles, they come in ford oem paint code colors with a small built in paint brush a little bigger than nail polish brushes.

Dark Shadow Gray:

Universal Black:

It came out very nice!! Can I ask what 3157 bulbs (blinking lights) are in your headlight unit?

The blinker bulbs are just the stock ones, I liked the way looked so I didnt change them but I am thinking about switching them out with the twist on LEDs. I have them on my Harley and like the way they look also.

I have the red ones on the back of my Harley, I was thinking of the amber or clear ones I'm not sure yet but they are not expensive so I might try both of them.
