CEL and Code Help

Hey Guys,

Yesterday on my way to work, my truck started running really rough. The CEL came on, but it settled down. Today I took it in to my mechanic and had him scan the codes. He got:

B1600 - PATS signal not received. I'm assuming this has something to do with the installation of the Viper 5902 I just had installed a couple weeks ago.
P0307 - Cylinder 7 Missfire
P0316 - Engine Missfire Detected
P2072 - Throttle actuator ice blockage.

I've trimmed down the descriptions, but you get the idea. I've picked up a new spark plug and COP for Cylinder 7 (second from rear on driver side, right?). I've also picked up a new battery, since mine was not holding a charge.

I'm hoping that by fixing 7 my mileage improves a bit. I'm running about 5-8mpg lately. Also, any thoughts on that last code? Not much info I can find on here about it.

Thanks,

If you are going to try and tackle changing the plug yourself be aware that there's a chance of the heat shield breaking off in the head and you'll need a lisle tool to extract it....
Try changing the cop first to see if the misfire goes away...if it doesn't then change the plug...

Also on the 2005s there a chance of an injector going bad...they're known for bad ones...

I just changed the spark plugs back in September and made sure there was the hi-temp nickel antiseize on the shaft. Shouldn't have to worry about that, like last time. Is that letter still valid with the truck being a Canadian vehicle in Canada? I don't have easy access to a scanner, so it'll just be easiest to change the spark plug and COP together and hope it fixes it.

So you've been initiated on the plugs...

When I posted that link I realized you were from Canada...the only way for you to absolutely know is call your local dealer or Ford themselves to see if it pertains to international claims also...

If you're only getting 5-8 MPG there is a likelihood you have a stuck injector. Mileage should not be that bad on the 5.4L

I had an injector fail and I was around that MPG. I would def change the COP on #7 and check the injector on #7. My #7 was the one that failed and seems to be the popular one to go with the 5.4L.

How hard is it to change an injector? Something I should do when it's not -24C outside, right?

Thanks,
So I found some information elsewhere on P2072. Doesn't look too bad, just a longer start process. We've been down to -50C over the last 2 and a half months, so I can see an ice blockage ...
