Iwe

Hello and welcome to my woes...I am having the "famous" IWE problems. My wife first brought it to my attention, I said if you put the truck in 4wd does the noise go away? It does! It is still to cold today to be messin around with hoses and vacuum pumps. I have read that by disconnecting and plugging both ends of the vacuum line at the point just before the first check valve will dump "Vacuum" to the hubs, thus saving any further damage, my half shafts will turn as well as the short drive shaft into transfer case. If I simply unplug the Solenoid on the fire wall, will this achieve the same result? Will I still have 4wd by flipping the switch?

Whatever method you use to remove vacuum from the IWE's will keep the them engaged full time. As long as the IWE's are really engaged and the transfer case shift motor really shifts, you'll have 4wd.
