So ive been having problems with my front wheels not wanting to lock in 4x4 i know sad right? a 4x4 with no 4x4 i had it on a hoist and switched it into 4x4 all i heard was grinding untill a loud boom and it locked but the second i gave it gas it slipped and started grinding again. Recently ive heard a grinding from the front right so i jacked up that side and spun the tire and there was that grinding noise. i applied vacuum pressure to the hub it stopped. so i went ahead and replaced the vacuum solenoid and lo and behold it stopped.. for an hour. I tired puting it in 4x4 and spinning the tires on snow, nothing, it still wont lock the front tires. Now itll grind while im driving but when i put it in 4x4 as im goin itll stop untill i put back in 2 wheel. Im lost. Any suggestions?
