Need help from someone with Message Center!

I brought a FX4 cluster, but the digital readout is showing in metric, kilometers.

My truck isn't equipped with the message center and I cannot switch it back.

I need someone I can ship my cluster to, install it, reset it back to miles.

PM ME! Will give a cash donation!

From Owners Manual
Odometer: Registers the total miles (kilometers) of the vehicle.
• With Mini Message Center
• With Full Message Center
Refer to Message Center in the
Drivers Controls chapter on how to
switch the display from Metric to
English.

MESSAGE CENTER (IF EQUIPPED)
Units (English/Metric)
1. Select this function from the
SETUP menu for the current units
to be displayed.
2. Press the RESET control to
change from English to Metric

Either this or I guess I visit the dealer to get it reprogrammed, anyone know of a dealer that can do this without the cluster being installed on the truck?

Take it to a dealer. They have to tools(computers) to do it.

Easiest way would be to take your dash appart to where you can see the bolts holding the cluster in. Drive to the dealership, take it out in the parking lot, Take it in and have it programed, hook it back up! bingo!

I don't know if they have to program the truck or anything. Thats what I have heard a lot of people do here.

Your best bet is to hook your cluster up to soneones's truck and switch it. Or better yet buy the message centre buttons and install them. I did, it can be done and it's like maybe 30 bucks

Really 30 bucks got pics?

The cluster only takes like 10-15 mins to install, 4 bolts pop of the panels and your there!

Links not working, won't I also need a different trim panel to mount the buttons to?

if you have the fx4 cluster, you cannot hook it up to the message center buttons. they only work on clusters like the lariat, harley, and king ranch models. in my fx4 lux package, i have the cut outs for message center buttons b/c it uses the leather wrapped lariat gauge bezel...but the cluster doesnt do the message center functions. you will most likely need to bring it to a dealer to have it programmed.

edit: i do know theres a diagnostic mode for the cluster though.... hold down the trip reset button while turning on the ignition...keep holding until the diagnostic mode comes up on the display. not sure if you can change anything though
