Body Control (security) module
Body Control (security) module
Question, old one is bad so i bought a new one from tasca, does it have to be programmed by a ford dealer or can I just install it myself without the dealer?
Nah, the body control module that is behind the rear seat on the driver's side. After much digging, I found my answer.
For future reference: It has a default program, and then the little things like automatic lights and such have tobe programed by the dealer

Just to update my thread, it wasn't the body control module.
Apparently the truck was leaking water through a seal in the passenger side door jam. (the piece that moves with the door and holds it open). Water was getting on the module/fuse panel that is under the passenger side kick panel.
Replaced this and did a bunch of water testing (water hose on the new seal) and no water came in. So great, fixed right? No. Does just fine, uuuntil it rains. Grrrrr.

Yeah, it was leaking there, so I replaced the third brake light and made sure the new one sealed up, then replaced the BCM. No luck

I am having the same exact issue
I almost had hope when I read this because my boyfriend and I tried to change the cargo light third brake light and it started raining he got the late to work for a few minutes and then everything listed below completely stopped working
Dome light
Radio (but shows the time)
Power windows( which are all stuck in down position somebody ********** help me)
Instrument cluster ( no RPM or speedometer reading)
and of course the cargo light is not working.
there might be something else that we have not noticed but the power locks do work
just like most people on here we tried everything fuse relay battery resetting replacing
it definitely sounds like we accidentally let the BCM get wet but if you replaced it and that did not solve the problem....my hope is dead.
