2006 F-150 SuperChip issue (help)

Im actually posting this on behalf of a buddy. He has an 06 F150 w/ the 4.6.

He bought a Superchip programmer awhile back and the truck has been running on some performance mode for some time now. Well today he tried to put the truck back to default settings, but now the truck dies when stopped at a stoplight, etc.

Here is some information he got off the programmer:

P0104
Mass / Volume Air
Flow Circ Interm
P1000
Monitor Checks Not Complete

Anyways, the truck is kind of sketch to drive right now since the engine shuts off randomly.

I really don't have much experience with this sort of issue, I figure you guys can help out. Not really sure what the next move should be, please let us know thanks!

Thanks in advance for your help,

-J

He might need to use a throttle body cleaner on the inside of the throttle body and also get an aerosol MAF cleaner to clean the mass airflow sensor. If either got some build up on them gradually, the PCM may have started compensating for it. Reflashing the PCM put everything back to the stock default and it's out of the PCM's range to adapt.

Did he do any mods that the tune was written for, like a CAI? If so, he needs to go back to the stock air box or go back to his performance tune.

I believe he has a CAI (K&N). One thing I should note that I didn't know about when I posted this was that one of the vacuum tubes is missing off the CAI, we are not sure how long that has been off for. I would assume that a leak in the vacuum system would cause the truck to not idle properly? Maybe there is a combination of things when he reflashed it Im thinking
