Evap Pressure Sensor Switch/tube
Evap Pressure Sensor Switch/tube
I keep throwing a emission code which the Ford dealership says is cause by a bad "Evaporator Pressure Sensor Switch/Tube"... Ford part# 6L3Z9J279C....
They want 560 bucks for replace this on my 06 F150 5.4 Triton? First I only have about 22,000 miles on this thing but yea ok.. parts do fail. Just seems like a very expensive fix to me. They say the tank has be dropped.. yada yada and then after installing engine gets reflashed. Not sure why that's necessary but perhaps someone could give me more infor before blowing over 500 bucks.
The Truck runs fine and no issues with anything else. I did change out the old plugs and COPS (light was on before changing) because it was misfiring... After that was done it runs great. I simply do not want the fault light on all the time. Also when it gets checked for emissions again the code will show and it will fail.... So I guess it needs to be repaired. I might even buy the part and try the install myself...... I also reset the code several times by unhooking the battery, but it always comes back!
Any info on this would be helpful... Thanks.....
