Winter Grill Cover

Got my winter grill cover on from Cabela's. It's made by FIA. It also includes the summer bug/stone screen. Great value.

Yes and no. It's cold for the truck, but not for me.

I want to have that off by next month and have my bug screen on... sign of spring hopefully.

That is the plan... I've been watching my coolant temps very closely. I notice when I stop and idle for even 5 minutes, she'll drop down to 175F, and the max I can get it up to is usually 186F to 191F while driving. The heat just isn't that good. I'm sure that isn't great for fuel economy and soot buildup from not running as hot as it should.

I'm hoping to get it up to 200F and to keep it between 190F to 205F. Tomorrow night and Monday are going to be negatives again, so I'm very curious to see how this cover will perform.

Do you have a part number and what was the cost? -22 Fahrenheit here tonight? Looks a lot nicer than a peice of cardboard!

The Cabela's Part number is: IK - 512605

I used my truck today, and man, I don't know what I've been missing. Much better fuel economy too!

My 04 lariat coolant temps never go above 188 even when it's 85 degrees out.
