Anyone ever fix the squeaking drivers seat themselves?

It's gotten really loud and annoying since it has gotten colder. I've brought it to the dealer and they just tell me the seat is performing normally.

I want to fix this somehow. It sounds like a 30 year old arm chair.

Has anyone fixed this?

The sound is definitely coming from the back left side of the drivers seat. I'm just not sure what to look for or what's making the sound.

Any help? Thanks!

Im in the same boat as you. My fx4 leather seats squeak like an old rocking chair, getting in, getting out, reseating myself, lifting up for a fart, SQUEAK.."it was the chair"

The passenger seat squeaks as well. Quite annoying but I learn to live with it. My tailgate squeaks too. WD40 fixes that, maybe it'll fix my chairs

There has to be some way to fix this. It's common for the dealer to say "performing normally." I'd go outside and start taking it apart now if it wasn't for all this snow.

I had a really annoying squeak coming from my drivers seat, it would make noise every time I went over any bump, turns out it was a wiring harness underneath the seat rattling around. Took it into to Ford and they wrapped it in some foam material and secured it better - no more squeak.

My passenger side seat started squeaking real bad. I grabbed a ratchet and started tightening down all the bolts on the seat track. That has been over a year ago and it hasn't came back. Mine was more of a metal to metal squeak.

How do I take off the plastic panel? Well, more importantly, the lumbar **** and the recline lever. I could not figure out how either of those two come off in order to remove the panel.

Thanks.

it would be easier to remove the whole seat and check everything that way. its 4 t-bolts and a wire connector and you're home free.

its most likely just that the bolts are loose or one of the bolts holding the back rest in place is rusted. pull the seat, lube the moving connections and bolt the seat back down as tight as you can, and you'll be in the clear.

Mine did it ever since it was new. I just noticed after reading the title that mine hasn't squeaked since I put in seat covers. Probably from something holding the cloth/leather or foam.

Mine has recently started squeaking too. I might have to get under it with a can of WD40.

the passenger seat on my 05 just started squeaking. i dont think its down low in the track area. sounds to be up higher in the backrest. looked to take the leather off and got concerned that i might not be able to get it back on.

By the way, I love your truck. The regular cab v6 5-speed combo reminds me of my 2000 F-150 setup. Man I miss that truck!

I don't really know how to get that **** or trim piece off. I got frustrated trying to get it off and I didn't want to break it. Yours being regular cab (don't know the exact differences in the other seats) you might have the same issue as mine. The two nuts I tighened that made mine stop squeaking were the two that become exposed when I let the seat all the way up on the track, on the rear of the track. They will be facing towards the top of the truck. Mine literally sounded like the whole seat was about to fall out, but it didn't take much to tighten them back down.

Hope everyone gets their squeaks fixed!!!!

Thanks so much for the compliments, Matt!

And thanks for the info on the seat. I'll check it out tomorrow. Today I pulled the seat all the way forward and stuck a flat head between every piece of metal I could a pried a but. The sound completely went away.... for about two hours haha.
