How do I grease the slip yoke in my 05'

Hey guys, have had this clunk for awhile now and never knew what it was until lately everyone has been mentioning the slip yoke. it happens when I slow down and then accelerate like when im passing someone. So how do I go about greasing up the slip yoke? Any pics or how to would be fantastic. And what grease do you recommend? Thanks guys.

BTW truck is a 2005 FX4 w/ 77k miles on it.

Mine will clunk for a while, then go away for awhile. This is the thrird time it's gone away. It's annoying, but the service guy at the dealer said it is not doing any harm and he would just drive it.

same process for a 04?

instead of putting new crimp clamps on and having to buy/rent a tool, has anyone ever used a couple of hose clamps? (stainless steel of course)

Thanks Meatwagon, bookmarked.

You can use a heavy duty plastic tie wrap over the boot end.

I would advise against hose clamps because they can shift around.

But, if you do use clamps, make sure to:
  1. Use the same size clamp for both ends
  2. Offset the clamp screws by 180° to avoid a balancing issue
  3. Use Nippers to trim the excess part of the bands off
