starting isssues

My truck has been acting up. about once a day i go to starrt it, and it wont start. I have to put it nuetral to start it. Which starts fine everytime. I figure it was some kind of switch with the shift mechanism. Anyone have the issue

So does it not turn over? If it turns over how does it sound? Can you drive it if you get it started?

I am wondering because if you put it into neutral you would be disengaging the driveline so if there is a seizure in the driveline that would cause it to not spin fast enough

No it doesnt turn over at all. If i turn the key on all the power and gagues, everything comes on like normal, But if i turn the key all the way nothing happens. So if i put it in nuetral it starts just fine. Then i can turn it off and it will normal lets just say 10 time in a row. Then all the sudden it will do it again

What kind of "truck"? I'd assume it's a Ford, but you haven't given us any additional information.

Neutral safety switch, otherwise known as the MLPS (manual lever position sensor).
