So yesterday I put my amp steps on, got the wires run, the steps put on, everything buttoned up except the door ajar wires. got the passenger side one posi-tapped, passenger side works perfectly

then I posi-tapped the driver side wire and the step opened, thought i was in the clear to put everything back together. closed the door to test and the step wont go back up.

I take the wire out of the posi-tap and it goes back up, ground it on the frame, goes down. my dome lights go out as soon as i close the door, never had a problem with that, just seems like the wire doesnt un-ground that i tapped. so i either have the wrong wire or something else is wrong.

Then i plugged the wire back in and started the truck up and the driver side step goes up soon as the truck starts but the door is open, but wont come back down when the door is opened.

has anyone else had this problem? im pulling my hair out, i tested every wire i could and the black and yellow one is the one that is supposed to be the door ajar wire

 

you have the wrong wire, there are a few the colour your looking for, but the one you want is behind the drivers seat where the wires go back towards the passenger side.

 

Alrighty, ill go take another look
