drivers window help needed.

hey everyone. my wife was driving my truck this evening and rolled the window down to back out of a driveway. the window would not go back up. it actually will go up about 1/4 of an inch, but then it stops. i tried to pull it, but it wont move. it will go up that 1/4 inch and back down that same 1/4 inch but nothing more.

im confused at what this could be ?? its raining tonight and all day tomorrow. i have everything covered up with a small tarp, but im hoping for a break in the rain tomorrow so i can look into this further.

any guidance would be great. thanks !

first off, we need a little more info about the vehicle before anybody here can help. does it have power windows, etc. if it's an '04 up F150 with power windows, you need to replace the window regulator. the best place to get that part from is from Tasca Ford. about $100 plus shipping, and it is very easy to install. takes not quite an hour. if you do a search here for window regulator replacement, you will find out how to install it. hope this helps

my appologies, i rushed thru my posting without giving any info.

the truck is a 2005 f150 lariat supercrew 4 x 4, 5.4L V8. it has power windows and power sliding rear window. i have the premium 10 year 100k mile warranty.

over the summer i replaced the rocker on the window switch. this feels like a totally different problem. it doesnt feel like it has jumped track or a broke cable, it just comes up a little, and thats it.

thanks for the help.

it will take seconds to clean the contacts, not even worth calling warranty dept.

I've dealt with contact problems on the NB and that's not a typical contact problem at all. I would at least pull the door panel and try the switch and SEE what you can actually SEE is going on.
