Exclamation 5.4 throttle response reset ???

I was on f150 forum.com earlier, and everyone was going bonkers over a way to reset their throttle response to make it more peppy. Supposedly you can do this with your 5.4 by:
- turning your key to on, but don't start.
-press the gas peddle slowly to the floor, then quickly taking your foot off, allowing the peddle to spring back up.
-turn key off again.
-repeat this 2 more times.

Anyone ever tried this? From all the replies over there, it either works, or there is a serious case of mass hysteria going on...

I was looking at a thread on this forum where someone said the same thing. Most people said it worked while some said it was BS. I've been wanting to try it but keep on forgetting.

I read this long time ago, I don't know if it works or not tho but, we have a learning adaptive pcu, and I read somewhere too that it adapts to how you drive...so if true..This could be true because it will sense you do a WOT start a few times with the key on and adapt to that...Or I just had too much food and beer and have no idea what I just said.

This is one of those topics that crops up from time to time. I've seen it on a bunch of Ford truck sites as well as on many of the Mustang sites. All it seems to do is get folks wondering and talking, but does nothing more then wastes your time. Typically someone will post another thread link that shows you how to tweek the contacts within the accelerator pedal sensor to make it more responsive.

At best this technique may recalibrate the pedal to throttle position so that a pedal on the floor gives you a wide open throttle condition. But hey, I've never taken the time to dig thru my service manual to see if there's anything listed that supports any of this.

I fixed my throttle response issues with the purchase of my Gryphon. It's at the top of my list for best mod to my 07.
