For a body lift, they say its harder to install on an 04 than a 00 model. Is that true or what? What all is there to it that is so different than the earlier model and is there a big difference in install on a 5 speed and an automatic? Also if you put a 3 inch body lift on the 04 will the stock tires still look ok on it? Throw me some ideas and opinions!

Was told 3" lift causes problems and extra costs. Did 2 or 2.5. Now need to lower rear an inch. 2004 f150 4x4
well, first of all 04-08 trucks require the removal of the struts, while the 97-2004H just need the t-bars to be cranked.
04-08 trucks don't have torsion bars like the 97-2004H trucks.
both are fairly easy to do.

Hes talking about a body lift not a leveling kit.
I dont know from experience but I heard its not hard just time consuming. Theres a lot to take off and put back on. Im sure others will chime in that have done this before. Also I think it will look funny with stock tires especially if its a 4x4. Also most ppl add a leveling kit in order to bring the front up, with this combo it is about the same height as a 6 inch suspension lift. I would like to get a body lift on my truck but the funds arent there, I would have to have a shop install it and heard its not cheap. If you can do it yourself than you can save a ton. The cheapest I have found for a performance accessories body lift was around $335 on Amazon. GL
Also you can download the instructions online and read through everything that has to be done and you can be the judge of how hard it is to you.
