So what is the problem with 05 injectors?

Clearly they are failing on a large scale, or at least large enough for Ford to foot the bill, but what is the actual problem? I have an early 06 and may have this problem down the road. I see threads where the injectors are sticking all the time on here, in many cases sticking open. Is the problem with the injectors themselves? If so, are there replacement injectors that fix the problem? Or is the problem in other parts of the fuel system causing the injectors to fail? Is there anything we can do to prevent this aside from good quality gas and keeping up with replacing the fuel filter?

A change of supplier after 2004 (lowest bidder, presumably). Hence - a crapload of faulty injectors fort he 2005 MY run. This has since been fixed.

The only solution is replacement with the better units.

Do they still sell the crappy units or would any Motorcraft or even BWD unit that you pick up now be a suitable replacement? Does anyone have a part number for the upgraded injector? Its like buying plugs all over again lol....ugh
