Looking at an '07 SCrew fx4

Anything to look out for/worry about? Truck has 58k miles and seems like it has been well taken care of.

Thanks,
Hunter

Take it for a decent test drive on a smooth highway and check for steering wheel shimmy. Also drive on a few rough city streets to see how it handles. Any excessive bounce in the suspension or front end vibration? Check the engine oil, trans fluid and differential gear oil.

Thanks STX. Engine oil looks good. I'll check trans and diff lube. Already took it for a long test drive and it rides great w/ no vibrations.

If the price is good and it sounds like you've already checked it out. Go for it. These are great trucks.

Is the truck being sold at a dealer or private party? Some dealers will change the oil before they put vehicles on the lot. Good one's do this not to hide problems, but to start new customers off on the right foot.

Good luck with your new truck, if you buy it that is

Listen carefully for excessive cam phaser noise.

I heard about the cam phaser issue, but honestly don't know what I'm listening for. My current truck is a 1990 F250 with a 351. Slightly different technology.lol I did listen for it though and didn't hear anything concerning. Purred quite nicely. Going to pick it up tomorrow.

Make sure you turn the 4x4 **** to make sure it all functions properly.
