OutSide Temp GagueIssue

I have a 2005 5.4 XLT screw and my out side temp guage is suck on 85f. Out side right now its below 35 degress. I installed a sub and good speakers in my truck a few months ago. I listen to Metal so the sub is constantly going with the double bass and stuff. I am always blasting the music so I have a feeling the vibrations may have rattled something loose. Also, the oil guage jumps up in the middle of the guage when I start the truck up in cold conditions and I dont think that right. What could be causing this?? Thanks

have you tried disconnecting your battery for 10 minutes to reset everything?

That would be my first step

I disconnected the battery and I'm still having the same issues. I think the sensor unit might be bad.

Pull the sensor out and clean the contacts, however, don't be surprised you need a new sensor $34.00 +- from Tasca Ford

Where is the sensor located? My temperature reading is almost never accurate.

Its right in front of the radiator on the support bracket. If I remember correctly its round with a pointed tip.

So that is what that thing is. I was cleaning around it today and was trying to figure it out. Thanks!

No problem. The same part at the NAPA in Toronto was $45 so I had a friend in the States buy it and ship it up to me.
