some ideas i saw for the 5.4l to try to my 4.6
hey guys, i was checking out google, and happened across some ideas for the 5.4l, that i wanted to try on my 4.6.
first off, i found a "ram air kit" for the 5.4 (jlt cold air intake) all it was was basically a kn filter connected to an elbow and then connected to the tb, with a heat shield underneath it.

now i was thinking of possible spending a weekend and designing something along these lines, and try it out. then possible bringing it further forward and maybe dropping it behind the radiator (depending on room and filter size) and making it truely ram air intake. i know it wouldnt be cold air intake, because it would be getting a lot of the heat coming off the radiator being forced into the filter behind the radiator, but i would think it would at least be ram air intake. (will prob need to install a efan though to gain some extra room)
the one down fall i saw on the website, is that they said the computer needs a tune. whats your guys input on that?
also, i know that they put superchargers onto the 4.6 3v mustang. my question is, is it possible to sc the f150 4.6 2v. of course not with same sc, unless i possibly make a new intake plenum, but what about a centrifugal sc. of course other things would be needed ie. tune, injectors, etc, and a custom mounting plate.
but would the stock internals be able to handle anything that might make a difference, say somewhere between 5-10 psi
