Question 2004 F150 check engine light on but no obd code

hello to f150 fans. if any one can help, or has had this problem please point me in the right direction.i have a 2004 f150 5.4 crew cab lariat that the engine light has come on about once a month for the past three months .i bring it to auto zone to have them put the obd2 scan tool on but every time there is no trouble code, and the engine light stays on. so i disconnect the battery for a few minutes and the engine light disappears ,until next time .

Hello & Welcome!

AutoZombie uses simplistic scanners. There are many codes they will not detect.

You need to find an independent shop with a sophisticated one, or visit yer dealer.

The dealerships hook their laptop up to it and can find anything. It's amazing what their software can do. Take it to the dealer, they'll find it.
