Matte Gray F150 Project
It's actually a ptm steel bumper and street scene fender flares glued on.
ok, props for being unique...i will admit that the progress pics had me excited and thought the paint job would look great, but the final product was somewhat of a letdown for me...i dont know what it is...maybe some sunshine pics would do it justice, but something seems to be missing or maybe it's a bit too much...i personally think the black rims are throwing it off...i think they 'dull' the paintjob (i'm not sure what i'm trying to say, but somehow, i'm not nearly as impressed as i thought i would be and i think it has something to do with the rims/tires).........NOT TRYING TO BASH, JUST MY OPINION...I'm not one to get on here and "blow" anyone who 'puts a decal' on their truck and make them think they're a world changer like 95% of the "i wanna get my post count up" posters here by simply saying "awesome", "looks great", "i wanna do that to my truck"
I like it alot! Seeing you're "partially" from Fort Mac, I can see how you had the money for this project
Somebody mentioned earlier about waxing these paintjobs... there's a guy on the mustang forums I frequent that went with a Matte Black paintjob on his 95 Cobra, looks great, and he says he can wax it with no problems

hey man that's cool, keep in mind I did it for me. Also its still not done yet. It is just the first time it was actually drivable so i took it for a spin and took some pictures.
yeah champ....like i said, not trying to discourage you or 'bash'...i think the paint job came out great and like the uniqueness, but i really think those black rims don't do it justice...and maybe not even the fact that they're black, maybe a different set of black rims would do the trick, but to me, the ones you have on there don't 'mesh' well......and i think i read earlier that you're gettin' your money's worth out of the tires...i think some new meats would help accent it also.....just some suggestions/opinions/observations
600 for sandblasting and powdercoating the 5 rims
2 tow hooks
1 diff cover
Trailer hitch

Looking good so far.
So not much is happening in my truck's life, mine however is quite busy. Im sitting in Cancun right now. My wife and I came for the week and we have to fly home tomorrow. The weather wasnt perfect but its way better than home!
I'll be on the ground for 9 hours before flying back to work agian, The plan is to work on the truck before the end of the month. I'll put the fog lights back in and snap some pics, I'll put the amp steps back on and maybe send it out for the bed liner depending on how much salt is on the roads still.
Note;
I haven't picked liner brand yet or ever read into it. Any one have advice? I scuffed it with 50 grit too, what should I expect to pay?
After March 5th the body shop will want my toy back b/c they will be done with the car in the Toronto show. (ill see if someone can hook me up with pictures of that '57 Chev)
The shop has to touch up the Right Rear fender and Clear it. From their the fender flare gets glued on and the rear bumper and hitch go on.
If i get the bed liner done before it goes back then the bed and tailgate caps will all go back on too. I want the bed and tailgate caps siliconed on to prevent the road grit and water from hiding up there. I'll likely do the bumper pad as well. I am a bit worried about expansion/contraction but im going to try it anyways. The reason being is the water and dirt that always seems to streak out when you hit the hwy after a wash, I hate that!
It sounds simple but so did painting a truck last fall when i started into this. I'll update anyone at the end of the month/1st when i toss some more man hours at it.
