Hello I put 285 70 17's on my 2006 f-150. So i then take it to te dealer to get the computer reflashed for the tires and they tell me that they can not change tire sizes on trucks 01 and up. So my question is Do the programmers that cange the tire sizes change them in the computer for the tranny to shift properly or do they just adjust the speedo. Any help on this is greatly appriciated.

Got my tranny working correctly again, and of course corrected the speedo as well.

 

Your dealership is not being entirely truthful with you. While they can not adjust by tire size, they most certainly can adjust revolutions per mile. I watched as my friend who has been a ford tech for 30 years re-calibrated mine when I got my 20's with 305/50/20's on them.

The dealership adjusted mine as well , when I went to the 285/55/20's. Or they just took my money and said they did. ($100) I use my Edge Evolution to make corrections for tire sizes now.
