I didn't buy a truck for gas mileage.....If I wanted economy I'd buy a cheap honda etc for commuting.

I know most don't expect to get huge improvements and just want a little more....the steps above will help...but don't expect any dramatic improvements...every truck is a little different.

I use fuel injector cleaner every oil change (3K) also.

Tires are stock size, IIRC, 255/70-17.

Guess I am just unlucky. Seems to be par for the rest of the luck I have had with this truck.

Thanks guys.
Fuel injector cleaner will errode copper spark plug electrodes prematurely but uncertain about platinum plugs. I recommend using a quality brand gas and not use the injector cleaner. All quality gas brands (Shell, Chevron, Conoco, QT) have intake and injector cleaners in their gasoline so any added injector cleaner is not needed.

I finally broke down and bought/traded one of these for better mileage :

Fixed it up and got it running. This'll keep the miles off the truck and fuel in my tank.
