My truck isnt proportional, need help what to do, photos attached. 2007 SCrew Reg Box

Okay so ever since I bought my truck, I have thought it always thought it didnt quite look proportional. I thought it was a tire issue (see all my past threads about it). I have a super crew 6.5' box. To me it always has looked like I was a super crew 5.5' box, tried to pull a tree stump out, and stretched my truck.

I got 35's on my truck with a 3" front and 1.5" rear. It made it look tall and long. Didnt really help make it look right. I want to make it look right without a full on 6" lift. That is about my only nono.

So far have toyed with:

- 35's on 20's with fender flares.
- Box Cap (topper).
- Those metal rails on top of the box.
- 33's and lower it down to stock rear and 2" on the front.
- 20's with 35's
- 20's with 33's

Most positive thing right now I can think of is Dodge Ram Tires on a set of 20's. Lower the back down to stock and either leave the front at 3" or drop it to 2"

See photos. ANY input is appreciated. It is hard to find super crew regular box trucks.

These were taken last weekend. First is my truck, the next two are what look more proportional in my minds eye. I am starting to think I need silver 20's

I think it looks good just the way it is. The only way you can fix the proportions is to take a sawzall to the bed. Tint the front windows while you're at it.

thejake1989 10-18-2010 10:57 PM

just sell it to me or someone else and get a 5.5ft bed

other than that i like it but a 6" will help

Patman 10-18-2010 11:08 PM

I think you should drop the front down an inch, or lift the rear another inch, get a little rake in the truck, and it will look alot better

Trade it in for a 5'5" bed.

Taking the running boards off will make it look 2" higher than it looks now. I think by removing the boards, tinting the front windows and maybe adding a dual exit exhaust behind the tires it will look far more aggressive. Otherwise I think it looks fine now.

its the two tone paint that dose it

I think its a damn good looking truck. looks perfect as is. Love the 6.5 bed screw. I've always thought the 6.5 box screws look a hell of a lot more proportional than the 5 fts. The 5fts look stumpy. How does the 5ft box screw with more cab than bed look proportional?? Hell i think they never even should have made the 5 ft box screws. they should all be 6.5. except for the 01-03s. those look good with the 5.

and i never realized how crappy those dodges look until just now when i saw two quality fords first. thing looks like a POS

I think its a fine looking truck, but id have to agree with Patman and try a little rake on the truck.

Both of those trucks have 20's. You need wheels. I would get some 20's with a/t 35's. truck would look great.

Truck looks great as-is.

jhoop03 10-19-2010 08:19 AM

Looks great as is, but what would really set it off is a set of 20s with less backspace, to give it a little wider stance, and a more aggressive 35" tire. Love the 6ft bed, I too think the 5.5ft look very unproportional. Just my opinion though...Good luck.

The truck looks great as is. I love the super crews with the 6.5 beds.

I like the look of the large street/allterrain tires. Aside from one guy, when it comes to huge tires it seems everyone has to go with mud terrains even if they dont use them.

You could add a light bar and/or tool box but not sure if that will help. I think I messed up on the scale a bit so the toolbox should look a little longer and taller. I think my truck seemed to get smaller and blockier when I put all that on.

I think if you keep going up you'll have a "massive" look. Lowering it will probably give you a red "dutchshun" look.
Here is the heavier roll bar style that could help pull the eye down after it follows along the cab. Dont get chrome, I think it would need to be tan or black to match and give the optical effect you want.

I stole a picture of bconnaways truck. He didn't have any side shots so I used what I could.
