btw, what rims are you running?
|
Josh yes I 100% agree that the new ones look a bit more normal. Thanks for the complement. The rims are Eddie expedition rims. Previous owner switched them.
Did some photo shop and like the idea of 22's and street tires. Take a look. http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l1...s/6982c92d.jpg http://i96.photobucket.com/albums/l1...s/c6c4f5ec.jpg This would be remove the lift front and rear and drop the back 2" using a drop shackle kit. I kinda like it. Positives is that I can actually park in parkades again and go through normal car washes. Plus gas mileage would be helped. |
My cousin used to have a red Chevy dually supercrew longbed that was lowered. He had 18 or 20" high polished Alcoas on it and that rig was so sweet...and LONG! It would turn heads! But you have a 4wd so if lowering is NOT an option then bigger rims and larger tires to fill out the wheel wells is about all you can do to make it look more proportional. OR lift it, put the '08 tow mirrors on it and make it look like a SuperDuty's slightly smaller brother. Stock height will just look meh....
|
Well I dont think the drop is going as planned. Next plan is 20's with 35's or 33's. If I went with 33's I would put the ride back to stock on the back and would get a 2" level for the front. This could be a bit better on ball joints but good sacrifice the look.

I.M.O. truck looks good as is.
|
I think you should leave it as is! I think the key with long trucks is the lift to make them look proportional so i think the setup you have is best. Lowering it any is just going ot make it look really long, for example, 2wds screws with the 6.5 look like trains. If it was mine i would leave your setup, take the running boards off, tint the windows, and put a weatherguard toolbox in it.
|
Yeah thanks guys. I know I am close. There is just something a little off. Tint and 2" bigger rim may be the only thing I am missing.
I really want a bush guard as well but not sure how it would look. |
I think the 20s with 35s would be a good setup. The brushguard may add to the length and make it disproportional again, but then again im not a fan of them. Just for god sakes dont put a roll bar in it like one person suggested.
|
Amen to not putting a roll bar on it!!*
Dude, your truck looks amazing the way it is! I have always thought the 6.5 beds look more tough! You have a great set up. I think if you went to 20's with less backspacing and 35" tires it would set it off quite nicely. However, *It would require some trimming. I did that to mine. My tires kept ripping my fender flares off as I turned but you can trim the back of the flare just enough so it doesn't do that anymore. I also had to trim the plastic in my fender wells quite a bit. In my opinion it is well worth it for the look you achieve! |
I think it looks fine.
|
I think the height looks great. I think you just need some wider wheels that have a lip on them. I think that flat face on the wheels is throwing it all off. If you have the funds put some more aggresive tires on it. I would look around the site and see if there are wheels you like and ask what size, offsets/backspacing they are. Good looking truck though.
|
Yeah it seems that my aggressive may be a little much. I think a new set of rims/tires is all that could be needed.
thanks everyone! |
I like the longer bed.

I am missing my center caps, I had to get going so those will be thrown on later this week or next week.

I think it looks fine, but other than that don't know what to tell ya that hasn't been said already
