Block heater (inline circulating coolant style)

http://www.carparts.com/ZEROSTART-TA...2935_10618.car ...that style, to prevent any confusion. (Not the standard freeze plug style which I already have.

I have an older one laying around that I am considering installing as a backup seeing as I have a company truck there are times that I dont use my personal truck for over a week, thus not bothering plugging it in. However if I needed the F150 for some reason in a bit of an emergency it would be nice to be able to only have to plug it in for less than an hour and not have to worry about starting it in the bitter cold like these can provide. (Have used them in the past and they suck some power, but are alot faster and hotter and work great) Have any of you guys installed one of these on your 04+ I would just like to see if there were any complications or installation tips to make life simpler or if maybe they are not even recommended with these newer trucks with aluminum heads?

I really want to get the Ford block heater for mine... mine sounds like a dead rat starting when the temps go down.

I put on a block heater from NAPA on mine, cost about $34. I was time to flush the coolant anyhow and I replaced upper and lower hoses and thermostat. Haven't really used it yet but friends up in Alaska use them and all give me the thunbs up.
