Just an FYI, no complaining!

2004 SCAB 4X4 5.4, 90,000 miles.... I have had a whine from the torque converter for several months and it did not fail, but I am going to replace the tranny (not from the dealer) with a reman. for 2200.00 out the door. 3 year 50,000 warranty. Love my truck and this repair is cheaper than a new truck and new payments.

x2. Someone is obviously to bitter to appreciate what they have. bicycles are cheaper and easier for people with your skillset and abilities to operate and maintain.

You're replacing the tranny, but are you replacing the torque converter? Just curious...

I've got 100K on my 04 4x4, but she purrs like a kitten. When I'm up for a tranny change, I'm going with this:

http://WWW.LEVELTEN.COM/Level_10_For...o1800-5000.htm

and this:

http://WWW.LEVELTEN.COM/Level_10_PTS...fo310-5000.htm

I am assuming it will be sooner than later, as the Saleen Supercharger (with pulley upgrade) should be going on before the end of the year.

Yes, complete remanufactured torque converter and transmission. I am sure the shot converter bearing threw metal shavings everywhere in the tranny. Complete flush of cooler and lines, and transfer case service and seals while they are down there.

Sounds great, man. That's a good price.
