Radio Startup Issues

Every so often when I start my truck the radio is on a random AM station and the clock is on the wrong time, the cd player also cycles through all 6 discs. I thought it was a loose battery cable but wouldnt that also reset my presets. Do anybody know whats happening?

Disconnecting the battery doesn't kill your presets any more. Guess they got smart and went to flash memory. You are correct to treat your problem as an intermittant loss of memory voltage.

sounds like the backup power fuse is blown. I would check the fuses to start.

Loose connection in radio power cable/plug, loose fuse, battery cable going bad, battery itself starting to go bad, ignition switch, etc. Look for an intermittant loss of memory voltage to the radio.
