Remote Start Silver not starting
Remote Start Silver not starting
This weekend I installed the Ford Silver 2W7Z-19G364-BA remote start system. This installation is on a 2004 F-150 Lariat (new body style) with factory keyless entry.
I've got a couple of bugs to work out.
I didn't get the door locks to work with the supplied remote, however they still work fine with the factory remote units. I had trouble getting voltage to show when testing the Pink/Yellow, Pink/Green and Pink/Black wires. I'm less concerned about this as I haven't spent much time troubleshooting this one yet.
My bigger concern is that the truck will not start with the remote unless the key is in the ignition. I have installed the PATS Securilock Interface KIT 3 -1L2Z-19G365-AB. I believe that I programmed the system correctly and didn't have any issues doing so.
When I try to start the truck with the remote it beeps once, waits 4 seconds, turns the ignition on, then off and then beeps twice.
The PATS Interface kit looks to be installed correctly and I've programmed it with both of my keys paying attention to not take longer than 5 seconds between key and remote start attempts.
Does anyone have any tips for me to look at for these issues? Does anyone think that I have a bad PATS Interface kit?

Travis at KCAutosound is a genius on Ford remote starts. I bought a remote start from him and he helped me thru when I had questions about installing it. I'm sure he wouldn't mind helping you out. His email is kcautosound@yahoo.com. Good luck to you.
This is taken from the troubleshooting part of the ford remote start with alarm book:
Failed Attempt to Remote Start
When attempting a remote start of your vehicle, the system has several safety
checks that it performs. If any of these inputs are present that should not be, the
system will respond back to you with several horn “honks” to help you identify
which input is present. These “honks” will occur after initiating a start sequence
with the transmitter, the system will turn on the ignition, but then respond back with
several horn “honks” and abort the starting process.
When this occurs, count the number of “honks” and refer to the information below to
correct the situation preventing a remote start.
2 Chirps BRAKE is being pressed, or the HOOD is open
3 Chirps One of the vehicles DOORS are open
4 Chirps TACH not programmed - see dealer
5 Chirps The KEY is in the ignition
6 Chirps The Remote Start System is in SERVICE/VALET mode
Hope it helps, if ya need a copy of the book online, its a pdf file and ill email it.

Success (partly)
I was able to get the remote start feature working by changing the Key-in-sense input polarity to positive. I did this yesterday and the setting did not seem to stick. I also changed Option bank 3 - option 4 for one button start.
Now all I have left is to find the correct wires for the door unlock pink/green wires and door lock pink/yellow wires.
