Why not save it until you have more saved up. Have that money for emergency. Then once you saved up and have enough for something plus emergency money then get what you want. I'm trying to save up for emergency money right now but a lot of things keep going wrong so its not helping much. haha. Don't buy a nissan as a winter rat/dailey driver...

you would be fine with 33 on stock gears. my work truck has had 33 and now 35's since it was new. it is an 04 with about 200,000 miles on it. with the 35's it could use new gears but i don't believe it is imperative. the stock gears can handle 33's imo

i would save up though and get something you really want or need, don't just buy something to buy something. that is something i wish i grasped

Your fine bud. Your not going to hurt your truck anymore with those tires then with stockers. When you get up to 35+ then your coming up on needing gears. Dont abuse your truck and you will be fine. i just dropped $2424.13 on a new tranny in my truck, i was abusing it and it had 130k miles. idk, life lesson.

Honestly my favorite mod was the hid's from www.DDMtuning.com and the two hellas behind my grill with hid's. Makes for a sexy combo and should cost around 200 bucks.

Best advice, save your money. Im still in high school, work two part time jobs, gave up being a kid to have nice toys. Its not all that great.

haha yea thanks for the info. Its either PM the front end, get a light bar with hellas, or HID's with Halo's maybe...or maybe none of it at all haha.

Why not get Duplicolor and do it your self, put some of your own work into your truck and DIY for much cheaper. I work at a body shop in a town near me and I cant believe what people pay to have me paint there crap. Or sand their bumper. Its your money do what you wish...

I dont know what to tell you, but im cheap pretty much your same age and barely make money, but im not dumb enough to pass up gears to make my truck look better.

Well, I am extremely picky with my truck, if you see the pics, its super clean and taken care of. I hate doing stuff that is going to be less than almost perfect, and while I have done my tail lights myself, thats about the only thing I have done myself. For me,a paint job is not something to slack off on and attempt to do yourself, you could be in big trouble in a hurry. I suppose gears is an option I just don't understand the need for them?? Not to mention I don't know the price tag of new gears + installation.

Well. I take it you 2WD, so new gears are 175, install is 300$ so 475$.

What do you mean you dont see the point in it. Put 200lbs on your back for the rest of your life, and keep increaseing weight so it constantly is holding you back and being heavy and tell me you live just as long.

It puts a HUGE strain on your truck to run even 33's. You just over look it like its nothing. Oh well let me blow my money on bumpers and not care about my transmission which is being killed which will be like 1500$ to rebuild.

If gears are too expensive, go down to stock tires. Because your transmission for sure will be too much. If you dont have money, why do you spend it even. Just save its not that hard.

no it doesn't.. a stock f150 can handle 33 inch tires, and your analogy about putting weight on your back doesn't even make sense.

I had a '99 V6 2WD F-150 when I was in highschool, and I had 33's on it. It turned that truck into a dog. It was heavy and slow. It looked good, though. It also threw the speedometer off. I wound up changin' the gears to get the power back and correct the speedometer. I changed them because I wanted to, not because I had to. If you like what little bit of power the V6 2WD has, I wouldn't go to bigger tires unless you change the gears. If you don't mind sacrificin' the power, go for it.

The best suggestion in this thread was to save your money. I know that's hard to do when there's so many cool toys to be purchased, but it will definitely help you out later in life. The decision to skip the toys now and save will get you much better toys later.

If feel you just HAVE to spend your money on the one of the things you listed, I'd go with the new headlights. They'll look better and add some more safety at the same time since they're brighter. If you can afford it, the painted bumper would be a good choice also. It would just clean up the look of your front end. The light bar with lights will just add more weight and bog down that V6 even more, especially if you go with 33's later. That's just not worth it, in my opinion.

Still, I think the best idea is to save your money, rather than spend it on those novelty customization items that really won't do anything for you. Once you have enough money to just **** some away, then get all or some of the things you listed. Bein' responsible isn't always fun, but it sure pays off in the end.
