Window Regulator: This is gonna be fun...

My window fell into my door today after the oh-so-famous POP. Going to the dealership to pick up the new assembly tomorrow to fix it myself. But shortly after I remembered that my door hole is sealed up and looks like this currently:

Should be a fun project stripping all the Butyl off there, especially since the weather is just now turning cold. These regulators seriously SUCK.

That doesn't look like fun. I've had to do both fronts, but have a stock door, so it was easy. :o

Ive done my front passanger window regulator but haven't had to do the drivers. We just did my boss'es drivers window regulator, we did the passanger a good while ago.

Well I got it done. Besides the 1.5 hours it too me to remove a bunch of Butyl deadener and the Aluminum flashing I used to seal the door as a speaker enclosure, the install of the window regulator is a piece of cake. I actually did not re-install the flashing as I removed the midwoofers and will be fiber-glassing some kick-panels for them instead.

Don't let the dealer rape you on this change, it is super easy. Once you get the door panel off all you need is a 10mm socket and 15 minutes of time. Just be sure the tape the window to the top of the door so it doesn't fall back down.

yep, did a manual to power conversion. manual regulators are a little trickier because of the crank attached. but otherwise, extremely easy to do.
