Cam Phaser Price?

After running around with my dealer and my truck being there for two weeks now they have finally decided its the cam phasers causing the problem. They quoted me $2500 to replace them! I know its a pretty frequent thing so my question is how much have some of you guys paid? Ive looked at the how to article on this and though its way more than i want to take on it doesnt appear to be $2500 worth of work. Thanks for the help.

Had mine done about 4 months ago . I think i paid about 1300 for the back side. My total bill was 1600. Had a solenoids replaced. Plus plugs changed - basic maintenance.

I changed both of mine myself.....Got lucky and found one updated phaser NIB on ebay, the other I ordered from the dealer. Total was about $200 and a few hours of my time. Luckily its not my only vehicle so I could take my time.

So you had to go around and around for a couple of weeks for them to find out the cam phasers are bad? That's a pretty simple diagnosis. Something doesn't sound right here. I'd get a second opinion after hearing that from the service adviser.
