4.6 intake question.
4.6 intake question.
Is the intake manifold on the 07-08 F150 different than the one in the 04-06? Reason I ask is I was looking at doing an intake swap since the one in our trucks looks ridiculously restrictive and I happened upon a picture of a supposed 2008 Manifold that was plastic and looked a lot like a Mustang intake but with what looked like a plastic elbow made onto it. The runners looked a bit shorter and it looks to be an overall better manifold than the aluminum one in my truck. Has anyone ever swapped these out? Can someone take a pic of their 2008 4.6 mani to see if there is in fact a difference? And if not what about a Mustang manifold with the elbow facing straight out? Would it work? Really thinking about some kind of forced induction soon so a loss of torque down low would not really matter. Thanks guys.
The manifold, fresh air intake and HP rating changed in mid to late '07 and alot of sites list it as the '07.5 year model to designate the difference.
I believe the HP rating was 231 with the aluminum manifold and it was bumped to 248 HP and 295 ft. lbs. of torque. The intake is definitely different than the one I had to replace on my '02 Mustang GT this past June.
My STX was built in 09/07 and has the updated engine.
