I removed the second thread as you are allowed one thread per subject.

Also, there was a thread a couple of months ago on the same subject. It's law firms trying to get people to sign up for a class action lawsuit.

That's true, and I have no use for lawyers, but that's one flaw that NEVER should have left the barn if the people who got paid to do it had actually tested the plugs under real world conditions. There are a lot of flaws that are not likely to show up in controlled testing because of the nature of them... This WAS NOT one of them. Someone needs a size 14 boot planted in their posterior for the headache that this has cost millions of 3V owners!

Hmm, something fishy on this.

WTF would they have this at the bottom of the page? "Copyright 2006 Goldenberg, Schneider & Groh LPA" Have they been chasing this ambulance since 2006 or are they just another group of details unoriented lawyers?

Bottom line boys and girls is this wont help a thing.

Typically, in class actions, if they succeed, the attotneys gobble up most of the award and the plaintiffs devide what is left. If it is as many plaintiffs as the attorneys hope sign up, you will get about $10. Class actions cost the defendant big time and benefit attorneys, in most instances.

I have no use for lawyers but this is one of those cases that needs to be pushed some how?

Ford should be ashamed of themselves for this. I have never given a second thought to changing my plugs in any other vehicle but I'm affraid to try it on this one after all the horror stories I hear.

This is my 3rd Ford vehicle that I have owned (over the past 30 years) and there seems to be a trend that Ford follows of ignoreing obvious flaws. They very rarely will recall or fix a issue that many other manufacturers would resolve.

At a minimum Ford should offer to replace your plugs at the perscibed maintainance intervals for free (you buy the plugs of course).

A spark plug broken upon it's removal does not warrant a recall. Simple as that. Besides, I hear on this site plenty of successful plug changes, and this is a truck enthusiast site (doom and gloom).

I do think however that Ford should not charge for removal if a plug gets stuck while performing 'Routine Maitenance".....They should eat that cost & not pass that to any consumer!!!

I agree, a plug change shouldn't cost any more than a plug change in a 08-10 vehicle regardless if the plugs break or not. It's not the consumers fault that the plugs won't come out.

^ couldn't agree more. don't penalize the owner and make them pay through the nose for a plug change on what ford know's is a flawed design. Sure there are some successful plug changes, but i bet more than not there is gonna be a breakage issue. We hear more of the successful one's since it is the exception, not the norm, not to have any break. Heck i like doing all my routine maintenance, but i am leary of trying this. Not only the detailed tsb to follow, but then you have to buy special tool's. And still sweat it out. Heck i love my truck, but this plug issue just ain't right.

Face it, many of us here, including me are going to keep our trucks with the 5.4 3v for a very long time! So the spark plug issue is going nowhere for a very long time! I am at 44K miles on my 2007 5.4 3v. & plan on doing this plug change at 50K mile intervals....... Furthermore, there are millions of these units on the road.....

To the best of my knowledge your '07 has the redesigned cylinder head, broken plugs aren't a concern for you.

Besides, I was referring to the lawsuit thing.
