06 XLT Lighting question

I have a question referance the convenience lighting on my 06 XLT.
When I shut the truck off, the headlights will stay on for a few moments allowing you to get into the house etc.
What my 06 XLT doesn't do, that my 04 FX4 did, was turn the headlights ON when you unlock the truck from the remote key fob.
Maybe this was just an added convenience of the FX4 package and the XLT can't do this. Or I need to activate this function within my truck.
Does anybody else with an 04 - 08 XLT have this "headlight on" feature functional in their trucks ?

My 07 will turn on the headlights early in the morning or when it senses low light conditions when I unlock with the remote

Check in your owners manual for perimeter lighting. If you do not have one, you can download one from here for free. www.motorcraftservice.com, in the owners manual section.

I turned my feature off on my 05 XLT since I put HID's on. I just looked it up in the owners manual.

Thanks guys
I will assume that my truck does indeed have the feature and I just need to activate it. I will go get my manual out of the glove box and find the procedure.

OK, According to the manuals instruction, page 102 for perimeter lighting "IF EQUIPPED" the, horn chirp then honk, that the truck just gave me means that I have activated the feature. I will find out later tonight or tomorrow morning when I leave for coffee if I was successful.

Well, since I had to put the dog out and it's dark I thought I would push the button on my remote key fob and see if my programming was effective.
Low and Behold. We have lights.
