Truck Broken into

My luck=Bad. While I was at Egleston Children's hospital in Atlanta caring for my sick daughter, some SOB broke into my truck in the parking deck. They popped the driver's side lock and stole, get ready, my flashlights. I don't carry expensive items in my truck, guns, computers, etc, but I had a 3D maglite and a high powered LED light in my dash. They also took my car charger.....idiots. The DeKalb county police told me that the F150's are one of the easiest trucks to break into. The cop showed me where they took a flat head screw driver and popped the lock under the keyhole. They scratched a very small place that can be touched up, but still. I also have the keypad, which everything still works, just without my flashlights. I don't understand people today. Maybe I'm not supposed to.

Dang bud that suck, I really despise some people, like you didn't have enough to worry about trying to care for your daughter.

Is your daughter okay?

You can get a peice welded to which would in crease there time, basicall makes it harder to pop out and pull the key pin. Then again they might just go for a window if not.

I guess it could have been worse. there could have been a broken window or a torn up dash, but luckily you're only out a few flashlights, which does still suck.

Thanks for the replys. I guess I've been lucky over the years since this is the first, and hopefully last. I'm glad I cleaned out my truck before I left, because I'd really been P***ed. I figured they were looking for a gun...sorry. Lots of low lifes out there.

man this is horrible. not so much about the flashlights, those aren't such a big deal...but just that you were already dealing with something obviously serious, and then have to have this happen to. i'm really sorry and i wish your daughter and your family the best

My truck has been broken into a few times, my drivers handle is mangled and all. All thats been stolen is a bat. Out of my ol green truck I had thousand dollars worth of electronics in the back seat and they stole a few CD's, pack of gum and a bottle of Crown Royal all in the front seat.

I just hope your daughter is alright. Trucks can be repaired or replaced and flashlights can be bought at the store!

same happened to me this past Monday at my work parking lot. Ripped apart the dash and took my headunit and GPS i had in the console. They even went as far as to cut the power line to my alarm siren under the hood. they found my Oakleys but left them, checkbook but left it, video games and left those. The didnt even take my ipod which was connected to my HU. Total estimate in damage was $1174

Same thing happened to me with my Ranger. They took $27 from my wallet while at a city park. I would have gave them the $27 to leave my truck alone. Cost me $300~.

Prayers for your daughter. What's wrong if you don't mind telling?

PM me, I'll send ya a new flashlight for free...
