I know you get a lot of these threads, but i've been on the hunt for a long time for a truck. So far the only so called defects I've found on this truck are the typical crappy cloth seats with some stains, typical faded wiper cowl, one bad windshield squirter, a small dent on a door beside the window and a small 3 inch or so scratch that I think could be buffed out. It sounds like it has the slight cam phaser tick but I can't really tell. Besides that it drove well last night. I heard a few faint noises so I'm going back Saturday to drive it again and check it out. As far as price goes, I was thinking 17 OTD.

Private party book on it is just over 17k. I'd try to get them to replace the spark plugs and check the injectors.

 

I would hold out for a 2007 or 2008 just so you don't have to worry about the bad injectors or the plugs. IMO, they also look better.

 

If I were to buy, i was going to shoot for 17 OTD. It'd be nice to have them do the spark plugs also.

07'-08' will not happen. Just way too expensive. The bad injectors are a possibilty, but wasn't there an extended warranty for them? Yes, I too prefer the rounded fogs over the rectangular.
