Exclamation Gauges not working

I just replaced all the bulbs in my gauge cluster with red leds this weekend. I had 3 of the gears come apart when pulling the needles off in order to get the gauge face off. If you're wondering why the gauge face had to come off, I had to sand the green off the back of it so the red can shine through as red only. I put those gears back the way I thought they should go and those 3 gauges work fine now. They were the tach, engine temp and oil pressure gauges. When I was driving my truck yesterday, the fuel gauge and battery voltage gauge were not working. Could I have placed the needles on too tightly and they aren't able to sweep? I didn't do anything with those little gears so that shouldn't be the problem but I don't know. I know I have gas in my truck and can calculate how much I have by miles but it sucks that the gauge doesn't work. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

My first guess would be the needles, second would be to check the gears just to be sure when you took the cluster out, you didn't knock them around
