Anyone hear of this before

Taking my truck to the dealer tommorw before my warrenty expires in a couple of days.Leaks out the trans or rear main seal.leaks out of power steering pump.trans slipped once on me.But the big thing is this...

When im driving downhill with o/d on and if its a long downhill grade the stuipd red light (on the dash left side) comes on like 2 or 3 times. And today when i was going down a shorter hill the red light came on with the check engine light and i think the battery light..wasnt on very long enough for me to get the other light.Truck feels lost when that light is on.When i try to give it gas it wont do nothing.but when that light goes off, The truck comes back to me.sorry for the long read.2005 5.4l 52000 miles.

ur under warranty so have your dealer look at it. if your check engine light is no longer on, you still have a code stored in there somewhere. have the dealer pull the code/s and diagnose it. find out what codes the dealer pulls and what they do about them.

you are probably looking at a dead batt/alternator. i cant explain the theft light.

*****update*****

dealer test drove vechile and found no issue. Also had 2 leaks fixed.power steering pump replaced. Also found a leak on the oil filter adapter plate, replaced some gaskets. They had to do a oil change with that repair..picked up truck and drove home.Truck made a horrible noise going up my driveway towards condo like a metal noise. Then trans started making noises and stoped moving in Drive.Went down to 1st gear and truck would move alittle.Limped home.Trans fault on dash and o/d flashing.Tryed to put it in reverse and it wont move.Takes like 10 seconds and some gas to grab reverse .Warrenty expires on the 20th..
Anyone saying trans here? lol sorry for the rant

I'm pretty sure it sounds like the trans. Good thing you still have warranty. Take it in and have them look at it.

Be sure they take note as problem can't be replicated. I think it can help if the problem arise.

Dude that sucks! Get that to the dealer and be persistent and don't let them blow you off. Be nice about it too but firm and persistent so you can get what you paid for-a nice truck.

It definitely will not be new. No such thing as a new tranny outside the assembly line. All field crate trannys are remans.

They might give you the option for new, but it will cost ya more.
warranty usually will pay for the reman.

Frequently, you can only get manufactured regardless of who is paying.

Picked truck up on 8/19 and it drove very nice.Nice shifts.Smooth.Wife drove truck Sat on 8/21 in the AM came home and reported no issue.I wanted to take it for another drive and started it up and found the CHeck engine light on.turned off truck and re-start light still on.I cant find my scanner..Then drove it 2 blocks to go swimming and found out later that it has a small leak under the trans that is making a small puddle on the driveway. Its right around the pan.I might check the bolts to see if they are loose.LEft dealer a message. My extened warrenty expired on the 20th.lol. I will scan and post codes if i can find it.Thanks guys.Do they have to reprogram the PCM after trans replacement? Any ford tech have a awanser for that?

The new/reman trans should be covered by it's own warrenty as well as the work they did, Don't sweat it just be a PITA till they get it right.

No such thing as a "NEW" trans or engine with Ford (and many others as well). If they run out of cores to rebuild (temporarily) you get a new part, but it is billed as a "Remanufactured". Their policy is they don't sell "New" Period! I've been down that road- bad trans in my '99 when I drove it home from the dealer, brand new. They put a "Reman." in which I would not accept. Had a bent trans pan and rusty old bolts that looked like they came from a 20 year old farm tractor. Ford would do nothing for me, dealer waited 6 weeks til a brand new trans came through the system, but was billed as "Remanufactured". My brother worked for a Lincoln- Mercury dealer and said indeed that's the way it works- no new, only "Reman.". That way nobody can demand "New" because they don't sell "New", only "Reman.".
