In my opinion, the bolts that hold the seat to the cab are vital in ensuring the other protective features (Seatbelts and airbags, crumple-zones) work appropriately. The fact that they were sheared off scares me. It could very well be a bad batch or mis marked bolts, Further more IMHO, I'm willing to bet that the bolts were made over-seas and that they would not uphold to a bolt of the same grade made of American steel.

(My father works with parts and tight tolerances, steel parts from China have the same grade yet are considerably weaker)
Ya I have no proof now.Dunno on where the bolts were made I just no they were cut in half lol.

Sorry about the F150 and Im glad you are doing ok.

New truck looks good. Dodge makes powerful trucks but I can't stand their hideous interiors and the poor build quality. Hopefully it ages as good as it looks.

Scott,
Glad to hear you are at least sort of OK. I'm fine. I actually was hurt much less (just some staples and a couple cracked bones-all better now) than you were and my truck didn't even have an air bag ('92, last year for the F-150s to NOT have them). With your long term injuries, I hope your insurance company helped you with your final settlement (other than just replacing the truck). Since my truck was so old I had just changed from full coverage to liability the month prior to my accident. My insurance company was little help to me, as I was not at fault and they weren't having to pay anything out. The other person's insurance company was very combative about their responsibilties to me (wanted my med. ins. to foot all my bills, and several other things). Because I was injured, I was able to get an attorney to handle the issue. Only time in my life I ever had to resort to that, but it worked out OK in the end as a result. Otherwise, I would have ended up without a truck at all-I couldn't find another is the condition that mine was, and for what the at fault driver's insurance paid on mine, I couldn't find much at all.

Very glad to hear that. You're right about not being in the ground, etc. My Dad always says "Life is great! Just consider the alternative." I had to sign an agreement with her company not to talk about the issue after. You know, it was so easy a caveman could do it. Ha, ha. At least the idiots that hit us HAD insurance.
