2010 Mods, and a Thorough Clean-up

I have been out of the country for a while so I have not been on the forum, but now that I'm back I thought I'd share some changes I've made in 2010.

Also, when I got back and took a look at my truck with fresh eyes, I found it looked pretty bad. Borderline hideous in some places, it needs a lot of work. I'm going to spend what free time I have in the next couple weeks to fix/update a bunch of stuff, so stay tuned for the updates!

Lets start with some DIY painting I did a few months ago. I bought a FX2 grille off ebay for 50 bucks, some chrome handle covers for 20 bucks, and some automotive paint/clear/sanding materials for ~60 bucks. For very little money, I created a PTM grille and handles.

^^That is dirt in that last pic, not a scratch.

No offense, but you should change the title of your thread. I thought I was going to see mods made on a 2010 f 150. Looks good though, msall, I've always liked your truck!

No offense, but the thread is in the 2004-2008 section.

Truck looks awesome. I am going to use that idea for PTM handles on my truck. That way if I don't like them I can take them off.

I suppose I should have named it "Mods in 2010" ohwell. Thanks for the responses so far. Lets continue...

Worn 100k mile stock ball joints + heavy 35" tires + lots of time offroad = bad alignment and obnoxiously loud noise from a cupped tire

Solution to the problem = a brand new tire and some beastly Camburg ball joints/UCAs.

Sure it looks slightly awkward with 3 tires at 60% tread and one at 99%, but you cant notice it unless you're looking for it. Plus its nice to have it sounding normal and not like I have 3 KM2s and 1 mud grappler. :o

No kidding, it was pretty embarassing.

The UCAs were $599 direct from Camburg. Stock replacements at a dealer cost nearly $700 installed, but you can get stockers cheaper online. I highly recommend the Camburgs if you have heavy tires though, the Uni-ball will never wear out and they reduced bump-steer quite a bit.

Aw, I was just messin' with ya and wow that did sound f'd up. I'm supprised your stock ***** lasted a 100,000 miles, I had to replace my lowers at 30,000. 150k and still counting on the Moogs I put on. And like I said before, always liked your rig. Question, uppers, lowers or both?

edit: Never mind, I missed the UCA part. $300 each, or were the lowers included?

They didn't last 100k, I was just lazy and waited until then to replace them and as you can see it cost me. The boots tore around 80k and leaked fluid everywhere, I sorta repaired them but it was surely a sign...stupid me.

Yeah that price from Camburg gets you both UCAs, both Uni-***** and everything needed for install. Its a one piece unit so not sure about lowers/uppers? The install is super easy too.
