What do you guys think about lifting a 05 2WD STX?

I was debating on getting 20" rockstars and dropping the truck 2" in the back, or getting 18" rockstars and 33" tires and lifting the truck 2" in the front and maybe a 3" body lift in the future? any comments about that or any unseen problems i might run into? will i have to redo ANYTHING?

Not sure about the body lift, but I put a leveling kit and OEM block on my '08 regular 2WD reg cab and couldn't be happier. I'm staying away from running taller tires for now (have 265/70/17's) just because I don't want to re-gear right now.

Depends on what gears you have in the truck. Mine are 3.55 any any taller I would really be bogging down. 285/70/17 are almost 33" (32.70), 295's are a bit over (33.3). I only went with the 1.5" to keep the angles close to stock. So a mild lift but looks 10x better to me. Keep in mind mines a V6, so the less tire/wheel weight the better! You should have no problems doing 285's.

thanks =)

are there any recommended lifts i should use?

I was gonna order the 2" level from topguncustomz for like 80 bucks and when i get around to selling my old rockstars and gettin another set i will probably have enough to drop 300 and put on the 3" body lift.. Unless anybody has a better idea on how to lift/ what to use?

Leveling kit with and AAL and bigger tires on the stock rims. Huge aftermarket wheels looks rediculous on a truck that is still low to the ground.

I have an 05 4.6 STX and I have 285/70R 17's and it rides like stock with a 3" Hell Bent Steel Leveling Kit. On my next set of tires I will be running 30570 R 17's. Lift it.
