UPDATE! 2007 King Ranch 5.4 only runs 10 mins then dies! UPDATED!

My 2007 Crew Cab F150 King Ranch will only run for 10 mins and it has a bad miss then it will die and it will have to set for 10 - 15 mins and it will start again and do the same thing! About a month ago the for dealership did a tune up on it "$2500.00" new plugs (broke all of them off) new coils and some other stuff. It ran fine before they touched it and ran fine after for almost a month then died... Its like its running out of gas and dies or something? When I turn the key on and off I cant hear the fuel pump prime or anything just a click, then it wont start unless I let it sit for about 10 mins. You can almost time it down to the min on when it will die everytime. What could this be so I know where to start looking before I pull the motor out and get another one for no reason

UPDATE!!

(This is off the reciept)

#'s 1,2,3 coils failed, original plugs and cat insufficient Bank 1 perfprm eec diag. service DTC P0301, 302,0303, 315, 420, Power Balance Test, Fuel system and injector flow testing, replaced coils 1,2, & 3, Replaced all spark plugs had 6 spark plugs that were siezed, had to extract, broken plugs with special tools, replaced all plugs, replaced bank 1 catalytic converter, reset KAM post road test, retest passed.

total price $2866.47 from Reynolds Ford of OKC

I Brought it in for a simple tune up cause it just didnt seem to run as smooth as it did when it was NEW but wasnt a big deal at all. Work was done at 125191 miles now has 128105 on it and has a knock sound when you rev it up and will only run for 10 mins after you finally get it to start of course then while running runs real ruff and when it dies between 9 mins and 30 secs to 10 mins and 25 secs after it started you have to wait about 15 to 20 mins for it to start again. WTF!!! I got pissed and called the dealership today and yelled at the guy and ask him WTF and he told me to bring it up and they would look at it so I guess I might trailer it up there tomorrow.........? But I'm not paying for them to look at it theres no way in hell.

Check the fuel pump driver module for corrosion. It's above the spare tire.

About a month ago the for dealership did a tune up on it "$2500.00" new plugs (broke all of them off)
Find a different dealer. If they broke them all off they don't know what they are doing, and $2500 is insane even if they do break them all. The going price for a plug change and 8 extractions shouldn't be over $1000 WORST case.

took off the FPDM last night and checked it out looked perfect but went ahead and spaced it off the chassis when put it back on. Pulled the mass air flow senson and looked at it and it was really really dirty I tried to clean it with some carb cleaner lol made it look alot nicer but now it wont start hardly at all and when it did finally start it ran real real bad and would rev up really slow and die if i tried to let it idle im pretty sure I killed the MAFS but dont know If that was the original problem or not. The engine compartment is so damn dirty whats a safe way of cleaning it if I cant so it in simple green and power wash it?

you should only use electrical contact cleaner on the MAF. so now that youve ruined it you can go back to your overpriced dealer and buy a new one and see if it runs properly again.

What about the fuel cap. I have heard of this happening on other vehicles and thats what it turned out to be. Worth a shot I think. Has to be one of the cheaper solutions.

Make sure your battery connection is good both pos & neg.

Some friends of our went through something very similar....cleaned up the battery post....& gremlins disappeared. It might not help you but it sure would hurt t rule it out.

A bad cap can cause you to loose pressure. From my understanding they must have a certain amount of pressure on the system. Not like the old day of stuffing a rag in the filler neck and it runs and runs.
