Got bored today
One of my step bars is bent from the previous owner. It always kinda bugged me but I decided to live with it because I couldn't afford the ridiculous $500 Ford wanted for the replacement.(A piece of bent Aluminum and some steel does not cost that much...)
I also didn't like the fact that they were Polished Aluminum. That's just as bad as chrome and I really don't like chrome.
So today I was sitting around and decided to just take them off to see how it looked.

After:

I think I like it better this way. The truck looks slightly taller without actually changing the height at all. It does make getting in and out a bit more difficult seeing as I am 5'5" but I can manage.
Next I'm going to be looking into a leveling kit and hopefully some time next year I will be able to afford some new wheels and bigger tires.

x3, even though mine are borderline not necessary now that I lowered it, I look at as one more stage of paint protection from parking lot dings.

I like the steps as well. My 8 year old daughter could not get in my truck without them. They also help keep dings off the rocker panels. But if mine was bent I would replace it or take it off. A bent one would drive me nuts!
I had my out for few months (my wife broke the left step bar hitting a snow pile),but now I can see the wear on the front seat from sliding out of the truck, I need to replace the seat cover. Get new step bars couple months ago.
