the 04's are different because they have 4 cats, whereas 05-08 have only 2 bigger ones so the length of the intermediate pipes, etc.. are a bit longer in the kit

Horrid experience with that exhaust. It sounds great, well, it does now. It uses clamps to hold together stainless....eh...not going to happen. It rattled sooooooooo bad. I paid FOUR shops to try and fix the rattling. I mean, we are talking so loud you can't hear inside loud. So my $150 exhaust cost me about $500 after paying someone to finally weld it all together. And there are still leaks.

Edelbrock has a sound clip of it on their website (not the store). I ordered a set just for the tailpipes. No way I could get anyone to bend up some stainless steel tailpipes for $134.

I don't need the head pipe and muffler. If anyone is interested, let me know.

Caution with this system

The Saleen system for sale on Edelbrock's site is ONLY FOR 2WD F-150 !!

Their listing does not say that but other vendors and eBay have it in their listings. I just called Edelbrock Tech Support and they verified it. 2WD ONLY

I was ready to jump on it for my 4WD SCrew but glad I checked it out.

Like there's a difference. No other exhaust system manufacturer lists drivetrain specs on their systems for the 2004-2008s. If you go to Edelbrock's website (not the store), they list this same system for 2wd and 4wd. Check it out here. Granted no Saleen ever came in 4x4, but I think that tech made an an invalid statement.

Doesn't matter anyway, they're out of stock.

Yes I agree with what you said about the other systems fitting either 2WD or 4WD. Never seen that either.

When I called Edelbrock TS, no one seemd to know anything about whether it fit or not. The final guy I spoke to said "Yea I guess that's right". Hopefully he was just a summer intern and their regular TS people are more informed.

Mine was delivered yesterday. Will Start working on it this weekend. Don't need the headpipe either. Already running SI/DO flow on it.
